vbman213 0 Posted June 14, 2012 I'm getting ready to add 4 more cameras to my current system that was professionally installed by a local security firm. I am going to be DIY'ing the upgrade from 4 to 8 cameras so I will need to run some new drops for the additional cameras. I need cables that are wall rated, have good temperature ratings, etc. What would be a "can't go wrong with this" choice for about 750 to 1000 feet of RG59 Siamese bulk? Securame 0 Posted June 14, 2012 It would help a lot if you say where you live, since I doubt that any of my recommandations would help you at all.
jeromephone 6 Posted June 14, 2012 you can get rg58/2-18 ga in 1000 ft rolls. You should look at the installed cable and determine if it is plenum rated cable. Plenum rated is for use in air handling spaces and usually is three times what riser rated cable is. Any thing you buy should be solid copper core and copper shielded. Try a local electrical supply house for cable and connectors.
