Hi

 

I have a Sensormatic RA486LP speed dome camera inside that is Panasonic camera.

 

And i bought a RS232 to RS485 and usb to RS485 comverters.

I tied to connect that camera to my pc, but no success.

I use PTZ controller software.There is no manuals on the internet.

And i have a 10 questions

The most important...how do make it work.

In camera i have AC power in/Data/I/0 and other socet alarm in and AUX out.

How do i mach PC and camera address and protocol.

And what is the S1 and S2 (picture)settings.Or it does't matter.

 

brown- data out (Lo)

yellow-data out (Hi)

black-ac

red-Gnd.

white-ac

green-data in (Lo)

orange-data in (Hi)

That much i find. If i power up camera all working fine.. camera makes self-control.

But how can i control it through my pc.

I tried and rtied but no success.

 

 

 

 

If enyone can help me how to connect that or tell me what i need to do ,it would be good.

And sorry for my bad english...i'm from little country in Europa.

You are recommended to use a standalone camera controller to control it.

I had a similar setup. You need to make sure the camera address is set. If you have only 1 camera, set the switches to 0, so camera address will be 0.

Your USB to RS422/RS485 converter will work if wired correctly, ie. be sure the send line low and high on the converter are wired to the recieve low and high on the camera.

I used a shareware program called PTZ controller. It is easily available on the internet, first 30 days use are free, after that you have to pay.

Find out which com port your converter is emulating by using Device Manager in windows, look for Ports, and see what number port you are using.

In the PTZ software, set the proper com port, 4800 baud, and select the

AD-RS422/485 protocal.

Also, open the Camera window and select the address of the camera, ie. 000.

Put your mouse pointer on the center of the little screen the software provides, hold the left mouse button down and move the mouse. Cam should move. If not, check your wires.
