nfr 0 Posted July 2, 2012 I need to urgently install some form of CCTV at a property in a remote location as the property is empty and has already had some unwanted (I'm being polite) vistors. Longer term I will look to put something more comprehensive in to cover the building but need something now that will capture anyone on foot or in a vehicle coming down a lane. I'd like to capture the number plate if possible - lane is narrow so vehicle approach would be quite slow - less than 10mph I was thinking of some form of widlife capture camera - I think they are generally refered to as 'Trail Cameras'. I'm looking to spend in the order of £100 - £140. Can anyone offer any advice in this area? Considerations that i need to make? Also if anyone can recommend helpful suppliers in the uk? If this is not the best forum category please let me know. Many thanks Nick
Rockvilleash1976 0 Posted July 4, 2012 Trail cameras work pretty well. you need to get one that has an IR flash. If you buy one with a white light flash Mr. Bad guy is going to see the flash and just take it with him. I would put one on each side of the road and as far apart from each other as you can so if they find one they might not look for a second.
