mrhunt74 0 Posted July 3, 2012 Hi, I am Paul and I hope you can enlighten me with my Camera issue. I'm new to CCTV system. I encountered a problem with my recent installation of 14 Bullet type (24IR) and 2 vari-focal cameras (36IR). We are using RG6 cables with the BNC connector and power supply connector in one cable, making the installation DIY. The issue is No Night vision for ch 6 (varifocal) and ch 11 (bullet) during the night, but in the morning the camera is working fine. We replace the two camera assuming its faulty but the issue is still not resolve. We replaced the cables and power supply for the 2 cameras doing process of elimination. but the issue is still not solve. The DVR has its own power supply, and for the camera, we have two power adapter with two 8 pcs. splitters. What could go wrong? all the cable runs are less than 80 meters... I hope you can help me... Soundy 1 Posted July 3, 2012 My first guess would be faulty cameras, but since you've replaced them, that pretty much rules that out. Next guess would be that those two simply aren't getting enough current, and/or the cable size and length is causing too much voltage drop. Do the cameras actually show signal loss, or are they simply dark at night? It sounds as if they're dropping out as soon as the IR turns on. First, make and model of the cameras would help (if they exist - "Digital Camera" or "Color CCD" or the like means nothing). Second, ANY specs you have on the cameras would be useful, particularly actual power (W) or current (mA or A) ratings. Third, specs on the power adapters: make, model, output voltage, output current, regulated/non-regulated, etc. Fourth, ACTUAL length of wire runs... and more importantly, SIZE of the power wires.
