SSSlippy 0 Posted July 10, 2012 I have a combination of ibeams and a metal beam ceiling to mount cameras. I am trying to find a way to mount these to the ceiling and I beams in our building. I already have the hardware purchased and the layout planned out but mounting them has become a challenge. I was thinking of using eletrical boxes to the ceiling but I am unsure what type of box I can find to run a pipe down. Any advice is appreciated.

vector18 1 Posted July 11, 2012 Your typical installer uses beam clamps, 1900 boxes, etc. I like installing a 2x4 across the ibeams, mounting a base plate to the 2x4 and thread conduit to the base plate and than threading the conduit to the camera base to a vandam dome. Or, if the ceilings are not too ridiculous high, why not go with varifocals and zoom in?
vector18 1 Posted July 11, 2012 Something similar to this, but the wood is laying across the ibeams........
