Multiple TV's to show my DVR pictures??????

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm in the process of installing a 4Cam setup with an Apollo DVR. It has BNC/VGA/HDMI Outputs on it. I'm planning on installing the DVR in the loft - as last time the burglars got in they routed through absolutely everything and would've nicked the DVR too! TV Set is the following:

Toshiba 24" Upstairs bedroom with Inbuilt Freeview

Samsung 32" Downstairs with Sky

I'm planning on using http://www.cameras-cctv.com/DVR-Accessories/Remote-Control-Extender to be able to control the DVR in the loft.

How would I go about getting both TV's to display the CCTV Picture? What is the best time/cost effective way?

I've read alot about using analgoue multiplexors and internal boosters (That way I guess I could have sky upstairs!) but how would that work with a skybox as its digital ?

Cheers

Cheapest way I can think of is to make a cable that has a BNC connector on one end and an F connector on the other end, RG6 or RG59 will work for this. Once you have an F connector on one end and a BNC on the other connect the BNC end to the video out of the DVR then connect the F connector end to a cable splitter, then just run standard CATV cable to each TV. Should do what you want and should be pretty cost effective.

Or you could go BNC to RCA then use an RCA splitter, no need for any overly fancy setups.

Hi. the extender you have listed is known as the piramid in the UK. you will need two sets for a house. (they bounce off each other)

But they are useless without video. as in you also need to run cables to your TV.

the apollo is a dahua DVR unit. if it is staying in the loft i would connect your DVR via internet over power.

then i would just buy a cheap android tv box ( start from 60 - £70) and have control with the app
