Power User 0 Posted July 19, 2012 Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and really need the help of the members. I have a friend that has an Speco DVR8TN/160 recorder for his business. He had an incident on July 7 where somebody attempted to steal from his store. He gave chase and and received a can up against his ear and almost a concussion. He gave me the recorder to see if the videos were on there for legal matters. I brought home and found all the recordings needed and turned off the DVR so I could do the recordings the next day. I turned it back on the next day and the dates are gone?? It only goes back to July 8th. I did not erase or trying recording or anything except shut it off?? Can somebody tell me how to connect to the DVR and see it they if they are on the drive and how to retrieve? Any Ideas what to do? I will be very grateful if somebody could help me. tomcctv 190 Posted July 19, 2012 Hello Everyone. Can somebody please with this problem. I can't express how grateful the store owner and I will be. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME. hi. does not sound like a good fix. it may all be lost. some DVRs are time reliant so you could be lucky if you try the following. 1. many DVRs that are just left to record for long times dont get maintenance done and you could be lucky in at some stage the date and time is out. It only goes back to July 8th. if this is the date that came up when you switched back on check the year also. another way is when you reboot your dvr go into settings and set the system time to july the 5th and then reboot and do another search. Power User 0 Posted July 21, 2012 Thanks for the advice tomcctv!! I have good news . I was able to find the files. Your response had me thinking that there had to be a time stamp somewhere. When looking for the time I saw what the problem was. There is an option that lets you set how many days back you can see the recordings. It was set at 10 days. I changed it to 25 days and that did it. Now I can see all my files. I burnt a copy right away. THANKS!!! I have question if you have time. I didn't see a save button anywhere so I guess it saves automatically?? Thanks Again
