how to connect DVR with door access, alarm, lighting, etc?

Recommended Posts

I heard that now DVR can integrate auto gate system, door access system, alarm system, lighting, ventilating system with CCTV.

Encounter some problem in installation (don't have strong electric based)

I have attached Remote PTZ transmitter on my DVR, now the problem is the Remote PTZ receiver, how I connect it to the home appliances?

Does anyone have done it before?

Gently remind, the DVR PTZ setting have to change to PELCO-D for the channel you wish to control the home appliance.

For autogate, door access system and alarm system, your Remote PTZ receiver setting have to change to Trigger mode.

Use the Remote PTZ DC receiver, there are two wires, just parallel them to the Push Button Wire of your system.

For the lighting and ventilating system, you just use the default mode, it is already set.

For lighting, if you want to connect to AC230V lamp, then you have to look for the cable, usually, it has three cables, one is Live, one is Neutral and one is Earth. You connect the Remote PTZ AC receiver to the Live and Neutral, there are 3 wires in the Remote PTZ AC receiver, labelled as AC in, Neutral and AC out. You let the Live wire connect into the "AC in" of the AC receiver and then the "AC out" connect out to the lamp, for the "Neutral" just parallel to the Neutral wire.

Any problem else?

Are you talking about being able to control the DVR with a remote that already controls everything else in your home automation?

I've worked with Crestron many times to integrate the DVR serial command protocols embedded so that the said DVR, after being installed, is controlled with the main remote.

Or, are you talking about integrating the PTZ camera to be triggered and sent to specific presets when an alarm is triggered?

No, no, I mean becoming my DVR as the main controller of my home appliances. The Crestron home automation is very perfect but I didn't need a complete solution (too expensive for me to use it). I just need easy controls as provided in the Remote PTZ Home Automation (affordable for me).

I have tried the autogate setting, it is even easier than I thought. Just parallel to them, then I can use my DVR to control autogate. I connect in this way, since the Remote PTZ receiver needs DC input, I parallel the DC that connect to the board to my receiver, and I parallel the other two to the push button wires. It's work! I can control my gate through DVR app in Iphone now.

Haha, dominated my gate.

For the ceiling lamp, I am not pretty sure, it's seem quite dangerous to do the wiring, can provide me some advise before I do it, to reduce the possibility of AC shocking.

Just off the switch, dude. It's pretty safe.

If you want extra protection, just wear a plastic shoe and a glove.

If your priority use of Remote PTZ home automation is for lighting, then I suggest that you can place your TX the same level with your RX for better signal transmission.

Google brought me here after I looked for a way to open my gate remotely.

Mind if I asked where to buy this PTZ controller Rx and Tx? I looked around but failed to find one, maybe because I have no idea what they're called. Installation wise, is it easy for someone who has little skill in electrical or anyone can easily install it?

thanks.
