goalie 0 Posted October 8, 2005 Could I please obtain some info who makes quality 1.2ghz Receivers out there. I bought a few of those chinese ones that you can find on ebay and of course had nothing but problems (I didn't expect anything more) so I gutted the unit and put the electronics into a plastic junction box from home depot, with new connectors etc. Works fine but looks still bad. Are there any out there that actually look good and have maybe better components inside. (I like the ones that look like the transmitters with the fins)

Are you using any special antennas? How much mA are these transmitters? What type of cable and connectors are you using and how long is it? We have utilized some asian non-name brand stuff and we have gone far distances. Over 10,000 feet away for a fraction of the cost of the boys who have to charge you more because they have bill marketing expenses and advertising. You don't need any thing fancy, you should look towards Amatuer TV, which happens to already share your band of 1.2Ghz. Their antennas are geared exactly for 1.2Ghz wavelength video transmission, so let me know those answers and I will try to help. Adam-
rory 0 Posted October 10, 2005 also, www.trangosys.com 5.8ghz would be the best for less chance of interference, but its costly.
iwatchlive 0 Posted October 10, 2005 Man you always quote the most expensive toys! Man if my clients would have the cash to pay for all of those EX this and Pelco that... Boy lemme tell ya, I would put up with all of those hair nicks and screw scars anyday! Woosh! How much more can you charge them for the fancy stuff, as I would think that you could make more monmey and still provide them with excellent quality video. Just a thought... But who are the clients who want that? All of them? are they all in the CASINO business too? Later Bahama Mama! ADAM!

Thomas 0 Posted October 20, 2005 I've used thier wireless transmitters. I wouldn't use motion detection (they are prone to interfearance) and I wouldn't use them for critcal use. If something bad will happen if that camera is down then I would go talk to trango.
rory 0 Posted October 20, 2005 COP USA wireless, worse junk ive ever used ..
qman 0 Posted October 22, 2005 Rory has always been like that. Since we are in this topic. I was asked to quote a system for one of my property managment companies. The property is a pain in the ass since I have to do major wireless transmissions, The property is like a small communinity that has townhouses all over, and they want to cover mainly the parking lots. The longest runs are about 200-500 feet, and not always line of sight. I really don't want to go with targus on any expensive solution like that. If anyone has any ideas, shoot them this way. spyguy 0 Posted November 16, 2005 So Rory, Can you recommend something for those not-so-rich clients if the Cop-USA stuff is junk? I'm currently searching for a good way to send wireless video about 600ft with relative open line of sight. Any ideas? This has been an extremely helpful thread thus far. Thanks to those that have contributed to it.

WirelessEye 0 Posted November 16, 2005 Tranzeo equipment is mediocre, but I heard it gets you by in situations like these....
jmason 0 Posted April 28, 2006 None of Low cost wireless include directional antennas. If your going that route you need the anteenas to make it work. The mid to high end wireless stuff has the antenna built right into it.
