rayt 0 Posted August 12, 2012 Is it possible to use a aftermarket NVR with geovision cameras?
Soundy 1 Posted August 13, 2012 Theoretically, yes. It will depend in large part on the NVR itself, and whether it will let you select generic cameras and define custom URLs.
rayt 0 Posted August 13, 2012 i am planning to put in a synology ds1812 at home, mainly for home theater, but saw that it was capable of surveillance storage as well, guess i won't really know until i try, since geovision isn't as popular as some of the other bigger brands here. Soundy 1 Posted August 13, 2012 GeoVision cameras are made by someone else and re-branded with the GV name. Couldn't tell you who offhand, but it has been discussed here before. Synology's Surveillance Station package (I have a DS412+) does have some capability to enter custom camera settings, so if you can find the proper URL, you might be able to make it work that way too. Korgoth Of Barbaria 0 Posted August 13, 2012 Try to add them like this: rtsp://:8554/CH001.sdp - it should work.

rayt 0 Posted September 10, 2012 as an update, i managed to get my sd200-s added via onvif, and i believe my other 3 cameras can be added on via psia when i get those up.
