shravank30 0 Posted August 17, 2012 Hi We are a residential complex in Bangalore, India. We plan to install about 12 Cameras to monitor the boundary wall & basement parking areas. We shall be monitoring the feed continuously on a 32" LCD TV as well as recording the same. Most of the cameras will be installed about 500 cable metres away from the viewing & recording station. Some cameras will be in close proximity to each other, so the data can be transmitted over a single cable( If technically possible) Please advise what sort of cameras & cables we should look for so that we can have a visually clear (without data degradation) & a cost effective solution. Thanks for advising
Dipol_CCTV 0 Posted August 23, 2012 Analogue or IP cameras? If analogue then use active video transformers and use UTP cable. Example: http://images.dipol.com.pl/images/info/000000052.gif 500m is too much to use passive transformers. If those are IP cameras, then 100m is a maximum distance between camera and lets say switch.
Blake CCTV 3 Posted August 26, 2012 If analogue then the active Baluns are the right way to go. If ip you can install a network to put the cameras on obviously you will need to observe the 100m limits of cat 5 but you can always use fibre optic or a wireless network.
