nokkieny 0 Posted September 1, 2012 I need 4-6 Cameras for outside a warehouse, they need to have a view distance of 100-150'. I don't want to skimp and have a budget of around $2000.
ronp 0 Posted September 1, 2012 We need more details to help you. What exactly do you mean by "view distance"? Do you want to count the dimples on a golfball, read a license plate, ID a face, ID a make/model of a car, at 150'? How about at 10' next to the building? Do you need 360 degrees of coverage around the warehouse at that level of detail?
nokkieny 0 Posted September 1, 2012 the building is 200 feet long, and only needs cameras on the front and back which is where all the doors/windows are + one facing the entrance. I was thinking put two on each side, hopefully picking up most of the actual building entrances, there are doors and windows spanning the entire buidling. As far as detail it really depends on what I can afford. I like the idea of a dome so the viewing angle is hidden.
jakesoundels 0 Posted September 1, 2012 I have used CNB VCM 24VFs a lot but their veri-focal lens only goes to 12, I think. Might be best to mount them about a quarter of the way in from each corner so the FOV crisscross each other. For more detail your're probably going to need a box camera with a zoom lens on it. centralalarms 0 Posted September 2, 2012 If you want to be able to see faces very clearly 100ft away then get a camera that has a 50mm lens. Keep in mind, cctv cameras only have a 20-30ft range for facial pick up distance from the point they are focused at. Don't expect to set a camera at a wide angle and see someones face beyond 30ft. I would recommend a system that this place called 123-cctv carries. Their model is SVF450. It is called the 5-50mm Zoom Long Range 4 Camera System 700TVL 200ft IR. I used it in the past for something similar, where a customer wanted some cameras to have a wider angle, and others to be able to see a face 100ft away. I used the same cameras and got the job done without making my life harder than it already is. Its not that expensive either. Just pick up a roll of siamese cable from them rather than the premade cables, and a VGA computer lcd monitor that's 22inch.
