RioGrande 0 Posted September 2, 2012 New to the forum and to CCTV. I need to install an outdoor surveillance system. I will be using an 8 channel DVR and initially install four cameras. Here are two systems that have been recommended. Veilux DVR SVR-824DVD 500 GB Hard Drive Veilux Cameras VV-70CDNL2812D Veilun Power Supply VPS-24910 CCTVStar DVR SSA-0824T 1TB Hard Drive CCTVStar Camera SVD-700SI2812D5 CCTVStar Power Supply AC24V09P I would like to install the power supply in the attic, 130+ degrees. Some have told me that it is too hot. Also, I have heard that Korean is better than Chinese manufacture. Any truth to this? Opinions on these systems or advice on other products appreciated. Thanks in advance.
RioGrande 0 Posted September 2, 2012 Any comments or suggestions for either of these two set ups?
nsullivan1 0 Posted September 3, 2012 I beileive Korean would be better but better than that is made in the USA. So far Pelco is really the only company that makes there products in the USA for CCTV.
RioGrande 0 Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks for the response. Does anyone have any comments on either of these two systems or something else to suggest. Budget is about $1800. Front cameras will cover the driveway and front door. Street lamps provide a little light. Back cameras are for the back door and yard. Very low light from a distant street lamp.
