Signet QV-8106: trouble with mirrored glass

Recommended Posts

I've recently purchased the above due to some tagger going around etching into my glass.

It does not see through the glass; it sees only the reflection. I need it to see through the glass so that if a tagger etches my windows (again) I can take the footage to the police.

Is there a way of getting the cameras to work? I have tinkered with the brightness and contrast settings to no avail.

The human eye has no trouble seeing through the glass.

I hope someone can help.

I have the same trouble with this kitset - when it's dark the IR LEDs are active, which then only reflect in the glass and blind the camera. Going by what I could see in the image, my windows' glass is barely transparent in infrared anyway.

I suggest getting a separate compatible weatherproof camera and set it up outside. Going by the display in Jaycar Wellington, you can take your pick of the Signet range.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has had luck with cameras without in-built IR LEDs at night through glass.

Hope this helps.
