Wadsworth 0 Posted September 2, 2012 Hello, I'm just a user wanting to hook up a Watec WAT-902H3 Supreme CCTV camera to a monitor, which I don't have yet. With computers, my understanding is the native resolution is the best to use so I am wondering what kind of LCD monitor or CCTV video monitor to buy for my 768 X 494 CCTV camera, can someone advise? Below are the specs for the camera: Image Sensor 1/3" B/W IT CCD Resolution 570 Lines Number of Pixels 768 x 494 Lens Accepts CS mount lenses Iris Operation Auto Video/DC Minimum Illumination 0.0002 Lux (F1.4) Do I need to buy a lense for this unit? I have not received it yet. Thanks for your help! Chris in Afghanistan
GrouchoBoucho 0 Posted September 2, 2012 http://www.wateccameras.com/products.php?prod_id=200 yes, you'll need a lens for the camera. pixel count of the sensor has no direct relation to the output resolution of the camera. if you're connecting the camera directly to the lcd, you'll get best results from a proper cctv monitor, ideally 4:3 aspect, rather than something like a widescreen tv. Wadsworth 0 Posted September 3, 2012 Thanks, that makes sense to me now that you say so, unless the output of the camera was digital, it is purely analog video. OK, gotta get a lens. I just bought this on ebay, don't have it on hand yet. Appreciate the help Chris
