Blake CCTV 3 Posted September 4, 2012 Has anyone used a RPi as a DVR
yakky 0 Posted September 4, 2012 I wonder how much crunching it can do. I guess if you used a USB encoder, it might be able to keep up. That said, if compact size is your desire, the actual boards on most DVRs are so small now that you could come up with a very small case.
Brad-Pea 0 Posted September 8, 2012 Slightly off topic but is it possible to use raspberry pi as a viewer for a camera feed/s? Cheers.
Liquid_Squelch 0 Posted September 8, 2012 I would think that you could run ffmpeg or vlc on the PI to watch the video. I had planned on using ffmpeg to log a rtsp stream from my dvr and upload a 'stop motion' or 'time lapse' loop of a camera on my weather station for my website. My Pi has been delayed another month, so I won't be able to figure this out until October. I don't know if it has enough horse power to run ZoneMinder or not. Best of luck!
