CNM Salva 8 Channel DVR Unit

Recommended Posts

Hi, I recently purchased a CNM Salva 8 Channel DVR Unit, it outputs fine via a Monitor put when I try to use the output socket at the rear for the television there is no signal. I have tried disconnecting the monitor but still no joy. I wanted to connect the cable to my distribution unit and then output to all of my screens.

I have connected directly to a tv via the video output socket but no signal.

Any ideas?

Buy a different brand! I have installed several CnM systems for clients, only their classic silver DVR is any good. While the cases make them LOOK like similar systems they aren't the same.

Now you have the system you are unlikely to get technical support , you are more likely to get vague answers from some sales order clerk at the company that sold you the pup. These people don't add any value they just take your money as for support, your on your own chum.

Nw the output to a monitor by which I think you mean VGA output? Or maybe you have tried outputting the BNC output.

You can try a BNC output to the TV using one of these. I haven't used one but they are supposed to br effective using the TV's scart socket. Of course, available on ebay.

Thanks for the advice, this is kind of what I am looking for. Why dont I get output direct from the 'bnc output' in to my TV? I need some sort of connecton so that I can plug in to my labgear distributed amplifier.

Would I have to purchase this scart connection and then plug in to a RF modulator?

Thanks.

If you are not getting any voltage whatsoever from the BNC out, it's probably faulty because you should be able to go straight from the DVR to the scart socket using the appropriate convertor. Look carefully through the software to see if these is a way of assigning a particular channel to the BNC output. It would be called spot monitor or display. You may have to enable it and select a channel. If there are software setting they will be in the settings section of the software.

Hi. for that type of connection you would need a modulator before you connect to your labgear.

Thanks for the advice, I have a rf modultaor. I'll connect that in and then the output I will put in to toe distribution amp.

Is the signal output from the 'BNC' different? What is it supposed to be connected directly to?

I tried connecting the 'bnc output' to the input of the rf modulator and then the output of the rf modulator directly to the tv. There was no display. RF modulator works fine whewn connecting to a dvd player via a scart socket and displays without issues.

I checked the settings, I cannot see anything individual that I can select for it to be operated via the 'bnc output'.

Sorry I cant help with the RF modulator since my experience of them is very limited so far. You should be able to view the cvideo signal on a TV direct using a BNC to RCA converter and plugging directly into a TV's video in (Yellow RCA socket) you may need to select it on the AV selection of your TV

I'll give that a go, it worked via the rf modulator. So I converted the signal to scart from BNC using a RCA lead. I then plugged the scart in to rf modulator. The outpit of the rf in to the distribution amp. This works fine. If I can get away with using the rf modulator then even better.

hi RF and Scart are two types of connection. if you use a modulator then you cant plug into scart

are you using existing coax (arial wire) or have you run new coax to each tv from dvr location ??
