CAcctv 0 Posted September 25, 2012 About to go crazy. CCTV noob but a decade of network experience. Equipment: EyeMax DVR 9210, newest software version (5.5.0.0 I think) w/8 cameras DD-WRT router (version and firmware I will have to confirm tomorrow at the office) 2 LAN systems 2 WAN systems (outside office location) System is 3 years old, but we finally got around to needing to setup remote access. Configured EyeMax, LAN web access and LAN remote client software work. WAN locations do not work; they get login failed to connect or no webpage if using the web client. So I adjust the port forwarding: Open 80 for EyeMax Server IP Open port range 9090-9115 for EyeMax Server IP Still doesn't work.... So I read up and try other things. Forget just 'block anon http request', I kill all firewall on the router. Still doesn't work.... So I add the EyeMax server IP to the DMZ. Still doesn't work.... (DMZ with port or without port forwards) I move web access port to 81 instead of 80 just incase of ISP problems. Still doesn't work with either the web access or the remote software client. My wholesaler I bought it from 3 years ago won't return my calls and EyeMax tech support will only deal with wholesalers who have a unixcctv.com account. I got one of them to at least chat with me and he confirmed all my settings were correct. He said the problem was our network since it worked LAN. All he could point to was maybe try a different router (they said they prefer linksys), but could not confirm that would do anything at all. So where do I go from here? What other info would help? (besides the router model & firmware version) I'm ready to go to frys and buy/borrow a router as a last resort.

ssnapier 0 Posted September 27, 2012 Update: Problem is that the global IP keeps getting changed by the ISP. so you need a dynamic DNS service... either that or call your ISP and see how much a static IP would cost.
