CoDeR 0 Posted September 29, 2012 Hi all, you have a very informative forum which I learnt a lot from. I need an advice on a surveillance network we are asked to build. I am actually a System Analyst and I have a good background in networking but I lack experience when it comes to selecting a good reliable NVR. The goal is installing 100+ analogue cameras plus as much microphones in a 4 stories building where they all will be connected to a central monitoring room. I have seen many NVRs online (not many supporting analogue cameras and audio inputs) but my concerns are reliability and video management features. Requirements: - 100+ channels analogue video and audio (can be more than one NVR, 3- 64 channels maybe). - simultaneous recording, and viewing on network clients. (can be web interface or desktop software). - has to be reliable, supports continuous operation 24/7. - better if it is an international brand (Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, JVC ... etc) for support and warranty. - has to provide a straight forward method to export video/audio footage to external storage devices (Flash/DVD/external HD). sorry for the long post, I hope you can help. regards, Nasser
tomcctv 190 Posted September 30, 2012 Hi. Some problems with your post. NVR is used with IP cameras and not analog. ... Yes you can convert with encoders but its a cost you don't need.... It might be best if you start with your budget and type of area you are installing at. Also good if you give camera distance from recorder
