BingoRingo 0 Posted September 30, 2012 Hi everyone, I just bought a Q-See system with the QT-548 DVR. It comes with a 500 GB pre-installed, and I just bought a 2TB AV HD; however I was wondering if anyone has tried installing something bigger than what is officially supported (they do sell 3TB after all). Just curious!
shockwave199 0 Posted September 30, 2012 Unless q-see customer service confirmed that it would be fully recognized, I wouldn't waste the extra scratch on a guess. And my unofficial guess is that it wouldn't recognize a larger HD than it's spec'd for.

That's the thing, companies are usually frisky about sharing "unsupported" modifications, even though they might work. That's why I was wondering if someone gave it a try. If I have too much money one day, I'll try!
tomcctv 190 Posted September 30, 2012 Hi. AV and green drives are always a problem with standalone units. Stick with standard drives.
