neptune 0 Posted October 1, 2012 Hi everyone, i recently got a TV from a tenant that was moving out and i'm not sure if its a CCTV or a regular one. Its a MAXX Digital MXLC15 (15 inch) LCD TV. It doesn't have Channel +/- button and instead Prog +/- It says it needs "DC IN" at the back for the power. It didn't come with a power supply so i had to get another one. It says its Power Input: 12 V 40 W It accepts a DC Adapter. But i'm not sure at what Amps... I made a post at another forum: http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk/electrical-forum-general-electrical-forum/64769-question-about-right-adapter-tv.html Thank you very much for any help
GrouchoBoucho 0 Posted October 1, 2012 that's just a tv. from what i can find (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2772920&CatId=), it has a/v, vga and antenna/cable inputs only. 40w / 12v = 3.33333a - so basically anything rated 3.5a or higher. neptune 0 Posted October 1, 2012 Yes thats the one! Thank you very much for your reply. I'll return the 3.0 A one and get another. I got fooled by the tech guy
GrouchoBoucho 0 Posted October 2, 2012 i looked up your other thread. honestly, a 3a adapter would probably be okay in the long run - 40w *max* doesn't mean it runs at the max all the time. but since you found a more appropriate one, it's all good.
