dexjel1405 0 Posted October 18, 2012 Good day! this is my first time to post here. just wanna ask if is it the right MJPEG URL for my IP CAM ( AVN314 (ONVIF)/304 ) "http://192.168.0.177:82/cgi-bin/guest/Video.cgi?media=MJPEG" ? I tried to type it in my browser's URL but it says FILE NOT FOUND although a "Video.cgi" file has been downloaded. What am i doing wrong here? Should I have to do some configuration? Please help me out with these. THANKS
vector18 1 Posted October 18, 2012 You should set your IP cam to h.264, not mjpeg. MJpeg is for A/V equipment mostly. As for the correct IP, we will not be able to say yes or no. That IP is on your internal network. You can do an IP Scan and if the IP camera is wired properly, than it should let you know what the IP of the camera is. dexjel1405 0 Posted October 18, 2012 well i was able to view the live stream through the browser when I type the ip and port (assumed the camera is wired properly). how about the port? is it okay if i used port 82 although i didn't port forward it in the router? vector18 1 Posted October 18, 2012 You only need to forward the port if your going to view the camera outside the network. Have you tried playback? I still say you should change from mjpeg to h.264.
dexjel1405 0 Posted October 18, 2012 I already change the IP camera from MJPEG to H.264 and I assume the URL Path will now be "http://192.168.0.177:82/cgi-bin/guest/Video.cgi?media=H.264". Ahm may I ask what is that Playback? is it a software or something? sorry for such an idiotic question. :-/
vector18 1 Posted October 18, 2012 How are you recording this camera? That is what I mean by playback. I've learned if set to mjpeg, when you record the camera, it does not record properly. That is why I would recommend h.264. And you should only have to enter http://192.168.0.177:82 to access your camera, not all that other stuff?
dexjel1405 0 Posted October 18, 2012 ah i see. ahm don't worry I've managed to work it out now. thanks for the help. It greatly helped me.
