gabriweb 0 Posted October 19, 2012 Hello everyone, Since yesterday my AVC796Z has stopped working. First a little beep and it rebooted but in the meanwhile it rebooted again and i had to turn it off. Now a continous beep can be heard as just as i plug the AC adapter into the DVR. Until i unplug the cable beeps persist and is constant. I measured the voltage of the ac adapter and it give out 18.99v fixed. (The AC adapter is 19v). Then i measured the +/-12 and +/-5v of the power ports of the hard drive and i found that the power decrease constantly (11.80, 11,72 and so on until it reachs 0). I think that the internal power board has failed, but i am having a lot of issues in finding a replacement part. I tried to take out the hd and tried with a new one, i tried a new cooler fan but i didn't tried to make an hardware reset as i don't have a guide to get it. Any help or idea? Thank you guys! coolie11 0 Posted October 28, 2012 Remove the HDD completely and see what happens. Look in the Alarm section in the DVR settings and see what's enabled. Alarm Notification = ADVANCED CONFIG>ALERT>INT. BUZZER System Reset = SYSTEM>SYSTEM INFO>RESET DEFAULT Check the onboard CR2032 Battery, if the settings resets by itself. Later i will do that. I finally replaced the internal ac board with a new one but w/o success. Just few minutes ago i also replaced the ac adapter and again, i had no success I will remove the HDD and check the CMOS battery, maybe this will solve the problem, but unfortunately i have no way to get into the system menu as the DVR does not power up. (When the ac plug is inserted, it starts to beep!). Thank you very much again for helping me, i will let you know!!!
