zibnata 0 Posted October 25, 2012 Hello, I am trying to understand the difference between a bad, good or better DVR. A couple of years ago i started messing around with cctv at my home. i am an electrician so running wires etc. is easy for me. I bought cameras which I thought were pretty good but I am now upgrading to 700 tvl which are a huge improvement. Of course everyone that I know wants a system so I need technical help. below is a link of the DVR that I have. My questions are, is it any good ? If I wanted to upgrade then what should I look for ? thanks http://www.ebay.com/itm/170653443642?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
coolie11 0 Posted October 28, 2012 First off you should not be looking on fleabay. The DVR mentioned, is only capable of a Maximum Recording Frame Rate of 120 IPS @ 704×480 which is, 7 FPS/IPS at Half D1 (Approx the size of a smartphone screen. Effective Pixels for 700TVL is 976 (H) x 492 (V) NTSC
