I have moved the MP cam to give a long view of the front so this is the 'after ' snap shot I have a samsung dome analogue looking right at the cars, the images are never going to be as good as the dahau but im in a problem area for cameras, the dahua has a 6mm lens, while it can view the area I want pretty good, it was no use where it was as I got mostly top of the head and hats, I needed to drop it down to about 10 feet off the ground but the only place I could place it meant the IR was to strong and it washed out the faces so I relagated the dahua to a wider view and bought the samsung to cover the cars, its over a porch light so it works pretty good at night and it has smart ir leds so it doenst wash out faces and that works pretty good. What I could have done with hindsight is order another dahau from another vendor with a wider lens and removed the IR from it, but I dont do things the easy way By the way, I cranked the exposure settings to get the best night motion shots, I set the range 1 to 10 ms, its not perfect but targets move left to right here and I dont have any options of front on angles. -- Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
martop1 0 Posted November 13, 2012 Just to compare, this is a shot of the samsung analogue I mentioned in the above post, its not bad but could do with some settings tweaks but as its always raining in this darn place im not getting up a ladder to access the menu, I dont have a coaxitron keypad or controller for this yet..... though I live in hope of finding one that doesnt cost more then the camera did Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
yozh 0 Posted January 15, 2014 Be aware there are two versions for this cameras firmware, one for PAL (uk) and one for NSTC ( us ) The firmware seems to be only issued by the supplier on request, partly to prevent bricking cameras and partly to keep support inside a closed loop for support reasons. I cant comment on what the newer firmware does or doesnt do as I have not needed to upgrade and wont unless it fixes something important. Pap, what psower supply are you using with the camera ? a decent 12 volt at 1.5 amp minimum should work fine, anything less than 12 volts and it can cause problems. IF you have set the network setting I mentioned to your routers address and IF your power supply is sufficient and it still reboots, chec kthe logs page, rebooting will show up, if so call the supplier and ask for advice, the guy I spoke to was pretty helpful. These cameras are pretty well made but its possible a few duds sneak past QT. I have an 8 way PoE switch, with just the 1 camera plugged in so it shouldn't be a problem with the power supply? I've checked network settings and everything looks right. Logs as below... resetting to factory settings but not yet tried the reset button on the camera itself. I'm losing 4 minutes of footage an hour which isn't good Same exact issue for me ! I`m on my 5th camera and they all doing the same thing. Did you ever figure this out ? Or just sent it back ?
