Can anyone Help solve this problem? 1 camera to 2 outputs

Recommended Posts

i'm using video balun to connect my camera to my pc based dvr.

everything works great, until i wanted to add an external monitor somewhere in the house

that will show this camera also, in another room.

so i split the cable and i'm getting jerky image only in my pc based dvr

the monitor itself showing clear image of the camera.

please look at the picture and let me know what do you think ?

what causing this problem and how to solve it ?

Thanks!

You should nottry to cut corners. First go to your display with a BNC T piece 75 Ohm it will either be automatically termnated/unterminated or manually term/unterminated, it needs to be unterminated.

Then you can go from the BNC T connector to the other display or input but it will have to be terminated and I'm not sure if it will be by your DVR try it first worry about it later. If you are using baluns, you should use two pairs. You need to check the video level at the final location is 1 volt Peak to peak. if not you can use a video line corrector VLC but you'll need to use an oscilloscope to check it. If you don't know how, I wouldn't worry unless your run lengths are significant and signal is poor or missing colour.

After thought:

By the way I am assuming your PC based DVR doesn't have a BNC video out or I'd suggest the DVR first i the chain and terminate the at the second display.
