I am posting this in hopes that the software can be usefull to some of you professionals and that is my way of saying than you for all of the knowledge I've gained through this web site

If anyone feels like this post is spam, I promise that my intentions to thank everyone on this site for all of the help I've gotten

For those interested click on the first link (giveawayoftheday) for the free download. The others are for information on the product but you'll be asked to pay for it. I dloaded from the first one and it installed and scanned just fine. It does say no support with the free version and for non-commercial use only, but a free handy tool is excellent. Stuck it on my laptop for use wherever I go and it scanned my local network just fine. Thx Quick Pick!

Your having the knowledge to use the software tools at http://nmap.org is impressive

This forum taught me how to port forward/configure routers, trouble shoot mis behaving camera's as well as lots of other skills

My next projects are going to be

1)dd-wrt on a router that is listed as a "supported" router

2)Barracudadrive cloud server so that I can use my own computer as a "cloud" rather than rely on a company who's server's may or may not go "down

Besides, with Barracudadrive, I get to keep my files and folders private by storing them on my own equipment and being able to access it remotely

I'll prob have time on monday... i'll make a little video showing everyone how do a complete port scan on an ip camera..... for example.. those costco ip cameras.. If you use nmap on them... it will reveal a LOT of information on what ports are open. I just got a dahua 2mp mini dome (wow am i impressed!) so i'll run it on that.

Those people that crack iPhones... and other things that use the internet... the first step is to do a complete scan of the box... and you'll see sometimes a port 80 is open.. and then a random 'hidden' port is also open... so then you dig around that other port... and thats where the fun begins
