Camera motion detector built in?

Just noticed my camera settings have a motion detection setting built in. Just wondering what this use would be since the dvr does the actualy motion detection. Thanks

if the camera has alarm out then it would be used to trigger a alarm or display a message on the screen

Hi! I'm new at this so please help me get going! I'm posting what I bought, then asking questions, o.k.? here goes, GVI Multiplexer QUAD PROCESSOR 4Ch Color CCTV POWER SECURITY CAMERA SURVEILLANCE @ Ebay I paid $40.00 . I bought that and 4 SECURITY CAMERAs . POWER SUPPLY SURVEILLANCE BOARD CCTV CO...The cameras have a place to plug in small 4 pin somethings? 12v DC and 24 v A/C power supply. The Quad processon has a 9 pin receptacle for an alarm, but I don't know what type? It's a used unit but it works! I plugged in my 4 cameras and all work great! Cameras have 2 BNC outlets and One is for a camera and one for loop. What is the loop for? It also has a 4 pin receptacle and 2 small on off switches. It has no instructions but maybe you all can help me understand it? I boughht a bunch of cables.How would I know if it has a motion detectable? thanks,,Ray.
