Kane 0 Posted November 13, 2012 Hello, I live in a part of the USA where people do rather shameful & frankly cowardly things at night. The chief offense is, someone is going through the area and depositing onto the roads plastic bags that are full of vomit. I don't know if it's human vomit or not (there's a lot), but it is certainly vomit. On one road alone there are 8 of these bags that have been deposited over the past several months. Our local police will never be able to catch the perpetrators without some photographic evidence or a license plate number. We need this situation solved as these puke bags are not getting picked up by anyone and they end up stinking for months. So... is there a preferred HD IR camera out there that that, if aimed at the right angle and in the right spot, could capture the perpetrators? It's necessary that it not be super-expensive. Thanks. Debashish 0 Posted November 16, 2012 You should go for a PTZ Camera, and use an alarm system by including that area into the motion sensing grid, where the activity takes place. That way, you can catch the criminals during their act. Cost in USA for an entry-level system: 500 USDs. By the way, that's a very strange scenario Debashish Head Trainer, Incept Training Academy (India's first on Biometrics and CCTV Systems)
Kawboy12R 0 Posted November 16, 2012 I bet it is a cabbie or designated driver who is probably yelling "DON'T PUKE IN THE CAR! USE THIS!" and then gets the drunk to ditch the bag. Pretty disgusting form of littering though. Worse than the pee bottles truckers are always throwing beside the highways.
Kawboy12R 0 Posted November 16, 2012 As far as what cam to use, try Googling LPR cam and see what comes up. WDR would be a requirement because of the moving car with lights on (probably done at night), and expect to put in an additional IR floodlight to help counteract the headlights anyway. There have been a few threads on here about lpr cams, but I can't remember anybody finding a cheap good one. You might want one or two lpr cams on the street with IR floodlights and a few cheaper IR cams to catch them in the act but tie ID to the timestamps on the lpr cams.
