Newbie needs help with a Mitsubishi DVR

I got promoted to being my company's IT person. we had a security company that would monitor 2 cameras connected to a mitsubishi DX-TL4 dvr.

 

i am very unfamiliar with any of this. i do know there is a cctv monitor cable (dont know the connector type) going up into our ceiling.

 

My C.O.O. wants to be able to output the DVR to a monitor so that a front desk person can keep an eye on the cameras. i have tried hooking a computer monitor to the VGA output on the back of the DVR but i get no signal, even if i put a little switch to vga mode.

 

anyone have experience with this dvr?
