IR codes conflict between Dahua remote and other device

Hi All,

 

My Dahua DVR is in with other equipment and I've discovered that the IR code sent out for another device is controlling the Dahua and switching screens. I know each Dahua has an identifier (mine currently set to 8 ) and the remote must also be programmed with that identifier. If I change the device identifier and then change the remote, will this alter the IR codes within the Dahua DVR? If not, any other suggestions for stopping the Dahua responding to another devices remote control?

I've tried changing it to 0 with no success. I'll try and a few more and see what happens.
