1280x800 @30fps over 10Mbit/s doable?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Im considering getting a wired IP camera, possibly AvTech AVN80X or similar, which can record in high quality, at least 1280x800 at 30fps. I'm wondering if this is possible to achieve on a 10Mbit/s line? There is little or no other traffic on the same connection. How much bandwidth would I need for that? Am I correctly informed that H.264 is the best encoding format?

bare in mind that bitrate affects your recordings... a bitrate of 2Mbps would produce a lower quality recording then a 8Mbps recording, although framerate and resolution are the same
