Help with 1608-808-46 dvr software

Hi I am new to all this but I bought a 1608-808-46 and I went to use the software on my pc but it keeps giving me errors and just cant seem to get it to work ( the remote viewing one) ... I have windows 7, I saw there was a windows vista patch but I didnt see any windows 7 patch could some one please help me out.. also can I attach a mouse to this dvr or no .. Im sorry if these are dumb questions
