Col 0 Posted December 5, 2012 Hey Guys, I am inexperienced in the world of security cameras and could use some help. I am looking at building my own PTZ camera using a Box Camera, a motorized zoom CF mount lens and a Pan Tilt Head. I would like the set up to auto focus. dexterash 0 Posted December 5, 2012 the camera controls the lens, so you need a camera with autofocus output and a motorized lens. you can also try to find a camera with zoom and a pan/tilt braket for it. you will also have to look out for communication protocol (to be the same for both, i recommend) and also a lot of stuff that an inexperienced user could have problem with. i recommend you go the integrated PTZ camera way.
