andrewinpopayan 0 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) Hi there, I have been lurking for a long time in this and the "dedicated micros" repair forum in order to glean information to repair my DM. The DVR is a DS/DX16c that I bought offa fleabay cheaply, 2 days later the HD went down. The problem of reformatting the drive was >slightly< compounded by the fact this is a LINUX based household, no M$ here To cut a long story short I put my hands on a pair of Western HD's of 80Gb each, fiited one out as a slave and hooked it up as "primary slave" in my PC system, patitioned it as FAT32 using "KDE partition manager", I then added the DM archive called "DS_DVTR2_(021)_.zip" to the drive and unzipped it all onto the drive.. I closed my PC down, removed the drive, removed the jumper from the drive and put the drive into into my DVR. Well it now works GREAT, a big thanks to all " title="Applause" /> who post usefull info on here. Regards Andrew Edited December 11, 2012 by Guest
