IP Dome camera recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have 4 cameras in the warehouse (all Vivoteks 2xFD8134,

2xFD8136,1xFD8134V - outdoort). It works with IPCorder Nvr.

I'm generally happy with it but I would like to use more cameras. They

should be dome too, resolution 1mpx+, horizontal angle 90+ degree.

Vivotek FD8134 is ok but horizontal angle is only 51 degree.

FD8136 is ok, and has nice angle (90) but I would like better image

quality. It has to be ONVIF 1.02 camera to work with IPCorder.

Price up to $600, what would you recommend?

Axis P3364-VE 6mm has a 2.5mm wide lens, awesome image quality and is compatible with almost everything. Budget wise, I found a seller on Amazon selling them for $449. Normally they are about $650-$800.

That camera is 1280X960, if that's not high enough resolution you can go to the next one up for another $100-$200 per unit.

Or, you can get some Dahua cameras, I'm surprised no one in here has chimed in that you can get a 2MP Dahua camera that sees through walls and costs $150.

Ditto on the Axis P33 and if you can get them for $449, wow, that's a good price.

$150 for a 2MP Dahua mini dome, that's crazy, I get them for a lot less, haha.

That's almost as funny as the .5 million dollar home.

Yeah, there's a seller on Amazon who has them for $449. I have no idea how they can sell them at that price, but I bought two. They were both brand new, in the box and fully legitimate specimens.

Damn you and your Dahua contacts, I am super jealous!

Were you serious about $450 PE3364-VE cameras? If so, that deal is long gone. They're double that now.

Axis has very good pricing for job bidding purposes. So someone may get a job where they need 100 cameras and get Axis bid pricing but they buy extras in case some are bad on the job, they don't want to delay the project or have installers come twice. Then they dump the extras on eBay cheap. You just have to keep your eye out on eBay now and then for these deals.

That's my theory because it can't be distributors selling on eBay, Axis would pull their contract as they are strict about it. Regular Axis reseller partners can't get cameras that cheap without bid pricing.

I do pretty good watching ebay, amazon, and craigslist for certain items, but then I get lazy after about 2 weeks and stop searching.
