Geo HDD issues: read only / not valid on new drives?

Hi all.

 

I am having problems adding additional HDD to the log location on a Geo GV_DVR 1480 6 bay system thats been working fine for years.

 

After adding the new HDD as usual and going into System Configure / General Setting in the geo system, when I go into Video Log Storage / Set Location... the new HDD is there but has a Red Question Mark on left of HDD (Path) and under size states "Read Only / Not valid" Does this with any HDD i add in the usual way...

 

I have added additional hard drives and powered them up as usual. (initialize / primary partition)

I have added them into system using hot swap hdd tool (Add for recording)

 

yet they appear unavailable in the system?

are you using them in a hot swappable drive bay? Have you tried rebooting the machine? can you create a new folder on the drive via Windows file explorer? tried reloading the software? what version are you running?
