Looking for DVR with strong functions

Recommended Posts

Nowadays, more and more customers are persuing high definition security & surveillance products. So HD-SDI, NVR and IP camera come out. But their price is so expensive, which is very difficult for us to market and sell them.

So we are looking for some unique products, take DVR as an example.

Firstly, it must have unique Graphic User Interface(GUI), which must be very simple and clear for end-users.

Secondly, it will be much better if it can combine the functions of DVR/HVR/NVR together. It means that DVR must support to connect analogue cameras/analogue cameras+IP camras/IP cameras only.

But its price must be much more competitive than NVR.

Thirdly, it should be with simple network settings. Many customers complained that they are always confusing with setting network to remote control the device. So hope one new technology can solve this problem.

Fourthly, it should be with HDMI output, and 3G&Wifi is also necessary. Many customers require that function.

Can anyone tell me where can we purshase this kind of security product?

Sorry for my poor English...

She wanted something cheaper than an NVR (?!?) though. With HDMI (budget Avers don't have that or at the least don't list it in their current specs). Plus built-in 3G and WiFi connectivity. Plus idiot-proof network setup. And the ability to run ANY format of camera. That'd almost be the CCTV equivalent of a contract-free unlimited airtime $20 smartphone with unlimited free app store access and free onsite troubleshooting. There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

Yeah, but recently we got a SDVR quotation from a DVR manufacturer, they said their SDVR can meet all of my requirements(their SDVR combines the functions of DVR, HVR and NVR; and they have cloud access technology to make network setting easier and convenient; with standard HDMI, 3G&Wifi). But i don't know how do they work? Have anyone heard or used that kind of SDVR? pls give me some suggestion. thanks.

If they've got something to match their claims for a price less than an NVR then please post the price, company, and model. I'm interested. Hype means nothing though. Most people with something to sell will tell you that their product is the best and will fit your needs just fine.

I did a bit of Googling on them. Lots of DVR models to choose from, but from what I saw I couldn't easily find hard specifications of what they would do. The models I did find some specs on didn't impress me much. Might be worth getting one to experiment with if you're interested and can find a reseller that'll offer support and advice.

I think I'm with Tom on this one though. I'd rather bet my last $500-$600 on an Aver Nano, even if (well, actually because...) Aver doesn't promise as many vague miracles as these guys seem to. I ended up not buying an Aver because of what it wouldn't do for me, but at least I could make an educated decision from what Aver published online without having to spend money to find out that it couldn't (or wouldn't do well).

Someone is going to come up with a cheap, easy way to integrate everything together nicely though. It might just be these guys.
