battery powered encrypted ptz camera?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I teach doctors clinical skills by observing them remotely and use a wireless, encrypted, ptz camera that we plug into the wall. We are concerned that a child might pull on the power cord and smash the camera...or worse.

I have searched far and wide and cannot find a ptz camera that runs on a battery, rechargable or otherwise. I have read somewhere that the motorized camera needs to much power to work with a battery.

I purchased an external Li 5v battery and tried to use with my camera, but the polarity was neg on my camera and positive on the battery and...no more camera.

Does anyone have a possible solution? PTZ camera with a battery?

Thanks, rbk
