mtraveller99 0 Posted January 3, 2013 Hi I have fitted a avtec 264 h dvr I have set up a dynds account they have sent me a line and using eagle eyes I have tried to make contact with my dvr but all I get is ip not accessable. In network on the dvr in DDNS setting I have written a host name, entered the user name registered with dydns, entered a password that I have kept a record of and set the dns server to dydns_free and set the port to 80. The line dydns gave me is my host name plus.dydns-free.com I enter this into eagaleyes in ip address, set port to port 80, set user name to the one registered with dydns and put the password in thats on my dvr and the title I give it is dvr. when I try to make contact eagle eyes states ip not accessable. The router is a 2wire bt bussiness hub that bt have switched on port forwarding on port 80 and have allowed two way traffic on this port I have spent many hours trying to get this to work any ideas. By the way the line dydns sent me has a hyphen not a underscrore as it is written on the avtec in eagle eyes I have tried hyphen and underscore with no success. Neutech 0 Posted January 5, 2013 If you have a Business broadband then request a static IP address as it makes for a more simple connection BT will try and charge you but tell them your going to another provider and see what they say To check that port is open use this - http://www.canyouseeme.org/ BT can claim all they want saying they do not block ports but their routers do and most do not have the loopback faclity to enable this Also the APP your running will need the mobile port opened on the router and set in the Eagleeyes software to match The HTTP port 80 is for viewing using a laptop/PC offsite on the DVR software
mtraveller99 0 Posted January 5, 2013 Thanks for your reply I did rather think this might be the answer athough I thought there might be a way round it, Bt claim there router is not blocking ports but I think it is as allways it says ip inaccessable and the ip on the router does change nearly everey day where on my cable connection it remains the same for many days. I will try what you have said with bt but I would still like to use my dynds service.
