jakharath 0 Posted January 9, 2013 Howdy, I do access control and security cameras for a living. Have 398 cameras on a Genetec Security Center system. So at work I run a professional grade NVS. Came across a deal on Craigslist and purchased 30 Axis IP cameras. Needing to find a (somewhat cheap) home NVS. Want to be able to view and record video. Any suggestions? ssnapier 0 Posted January 9, 2013 I think you could run two systems and use the free Axis software with 16 camera each... right? http://www.axis.com/products/cam_companion_software/index.htm
jakharath 0 Posted January 9, 2013 Sadly I have a bunch of Axis 216FD's and 212PTZ's that acording to Axis are not supported with the Camera Companion software.
ssnapier 0 Posted January 9, 2013 Mobotix Control Center will support those, but you can only record continuous thru there.... just another free (but limited) option. The live views would be quite good though.
ssnapier 0 Posted January 9, 2013 I mis-stated that a bit. You will need MxServer to do the recording for you, unless you just want to use FTP or something else. If you want to be able to search and playback thru MxCC, you will need to use MxServer in conjunction with MxCC but that can be done on one machine.
