HostilePastry 0 Posted January 10, 2013 I have this camera: http://www.123securityproducts.com/vtd-mvp2810-l35-b.html I am installing 2 of these with the flush mount option - 2 of them with the vandal proof mount (the first two will be high up, while the vandal ones will be in baseball bat range). I have Siamese analog video/power cables pre-wired at each desired location (12V). The enclosed picture is what the power connector looks like at the camera end. I plan to mount these domes with a flush mount which will involve cutting into the siding. That being said, is it safe to just have the red/black power wires plugged into the green connector and then "shoved" behind the camera when I go to mount it? Kinda worried about a fire hazard with that - or is there a cover or something that goes over these? Being maybe a little overly cautious just mainly curious. A picture of the camera end connector is here. Any tips would be helpful - these are going into a residential new home build.
vector18 1 Posted January 10, 2013 There is no problem at all putting the 12 volts wire in that connector. If your a paranoid maniac, simply wrap it up with electrical tape after you put the wire in it.
