pipabix 0 Posted January 25, 2013 I've been glued to the pc for 2 days reading on cctvforum and other blog links found here. great site by the way. . love it. to the problem, I'm in Europe, Ireland to be precise. and Im well aware that most on here are from the US, all costs are quoted in $ and companys web sites like costco are all in US. after reading and surfing the net for 2-3 days + research over the last yr or so i have found out that IP /Digital/ Network Camera system .. . call it what you will is the future. . versus say 600TVL camera system. what has shocked me is that nothing exists in Ireland/UK/Europe without paying for starters up on €350 for one good camera. and we seem to be stuck in old mode. . take a look here for instance. . http://www.avforums.com/forums/home-automation-lighting-security-climate-control/1578765-whats-good-cctv-system.html it seems to be the norm. .. every site over this way is not offering anything on IP systems.. even the big electronics companies in the UK dont carry anything in this line. http://www.costco.com/.product.100003461.html?cm_sp=RichRelevance-_-itempageVerticalRight-_-CategorySiloedViewCP&cm_vc=itempageVerticalRight|CategorySiloedViewCP no offer like the one above anywhere in the UK even. Listen, ill be quick. . . Dahua,q-see,ACTi etc. . all top brands none available in europe, or at good prices if found. is there a company that ships to europe from the states?? or what are my options?. ill pay good money for a good system, but i aint no fool. . camera is a camera. . or should i just leave the IP and go to the old school section of CCTV. what im looking for IP System 8 Cameras I live in the country, i mean its black at night time. . no street lighting. (best cam for this)?? remote viewing would be good if (motion detection, then email/phone/text on detection of an intruder). camera scope, it say 20 - 30 ft would suffice, reason why i need it. I need to know if someone calls to house and basically watch them leave again with peace of mind they just rang the door bell, not attempt breakin etc. . im so remote that i think cctv is my first system rather than alarm. . (who will hear the alarm i keep been asked). . thoughts welcome what are my options . . will i switch over to analogue? bare in mind i have cat5e all over the house to locations + a twin core wire for power. .. didnt know what way i was going. please help. . .
