I need your help here...

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i am a newbie and i need your help with my project. I am from Greece and a very small village called Domnista.

With my friends we setup this outdoor IP camera (cost about $180)

http://www.domnista.gr/?page_id=2318&lang=en

where the site visitor can view 24x7 the square of our village.

You can see the basic setup in this image

Here is the parameters of the camera streams:

Stream 1: mjpeg, 640x480, Frame rate: 15fps, Intra frame period: 1/2s (Chrome/Firefox users see this)

Stream 2: mpeg-4, Frame size: 320x240, Fixed quality: standard (IE users see this after installing an activex addin by vivotek)

--------------------------------------------------------------

We want to replace our outdoor wireless ip camera with a new one that will give us a better video and possibilities.

- a very good quality and smooth video (remember that our upload bandwidth is about 1Mbps over adsl. Can i expect a good video quality with a bandwidth like this?)

- a good audio

- pan/tilt/zoom

- optical zoom (preferable)

- dyndns support

- can be embedded on website

- our budget is about $1000

Do you think that there is cameras out there that fits this characteristics?

thanks in advance

Nikos

Hi a mobotix is ideal for your application.

http://www.mobotix.com/eng_US/content/view/full/4648

From what i can read here:

- there is no wireless model.

- don't i need a camera supporting h.264 protocol?

- i can't see if there are any dyndns support.

- the prices are way over $1000.

Any other recommendations?

no its not >>>> but where are you going with your camera before it goes out to internet ???

Take a look at the first post. There is a diagram that explains the connectivity.
