Running 700tvl camera 780 feet

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to run 8 cameras 780 feet. The cameras are 700tvl-if that makes a difference. I plan on using rg59 18/2 Siamese cable. Will it be ok to run power and video 780 feet directly from camera to the dvr?

I'm looking into using localized power by the cameras, but I don't know if the RG59 will send the video back that far. Anyone know a way I can run cable straight between the dvr and cameras- price is not an issue.

Look into IP more resolution and you could make one fiber run use a couple of switches with fiber ports on them. You would end up scrapping the cameras but overall you would get plenty of bandwith to expand later. You could also keep your cameras and use a converter from analog to IP. 6 strand fiber should cost around 1.00 a foot if you are buying it yourself connectors sc/st/lc around 15.00 ea you would have labor installing of course. I would look into pre terminated fiber you can order exactly the length you want and it comes factory terminated on both ends you have to be a little more carefull pulling but it would save you time.
