nicopereira 0 Posted February 2, 2013 Hi everybody! I install conventional cctv systems, and i assume im professional on this, but last week a customer asked me a solution for triggering an output (it may be a digital output or a data package) when an object is placed in certain area of the camera vision. I assume that i need a software capable of this, but i just couldnt find it. The camera will be facing a table, and he wants to draw several zones on that table, lets say, Zone1, Zone2, Zone3... when an object is placed, the corresponding zone will alarm saying "Object Placed in Zone2", when the object is removed, the zone will alarm saying "Object Removed in Zone2". is this possible with any open source software? or any commercial one? thanks in advance! nik. GrouchoBoucho 0 Posted February 2, 2013 the term you're looking for is 'video analytics', and yes, it is fairly commonly available these days. check some of these videos: http://www.puretechsystems.com/video-library-video-analytics-object-left-behind-video-object-detection.html
