Machineman 0 Posted February 2, 2013 Q-See QCN7100B (Dahua HFW2100) 1.3m bullet cam In Network / SMTP theres a setting called "interval" configurable from 180 to 3600sec. What does this do? Its defaulted at 180sec. In Camera / Video / Snapshot theres another setting called "interval" configurable from 1 to 7sec. What does this do? Its defaulted at 1sec. Thanks. Probably has to do with the interval at which snapshots are taken and stored, and/or sent to your email.
Machineman 0 Posted February 3, 2013 You could call Costco Concierge support and ask them, also you can call Q-See and ask them. Tried that already with Q-see support a few weeks ago and still waiting. And the PDF manual does not detail these settings.
lowpro 0 Posted February 3, 2013 Interval – This adjusts the amount of time that will pass before the NVR sends out another e-mail. The interval can be set from 0 seconds to ten hours (3600 seconds). If you are getting too many e-mails, you may wish to increase the length of the interval. Using this feature also helps prevent overloading your outgoing e-mail server. The Snapshot tab allows you to set the resolution, quality and frequency of snapshots captured by the camera. These are separate from the snapshots captured by the NVR using this camera. http://www.q-see.com/files/manuals/QC%20IP%20Camera%20Manual_web.pdf

Doesn't have much detail for stand alone cameras. The SMTP interval lowest possible setting is 180sec and I can get emails within 1min from each other. So im confused as to what it does. The interval in the snapshot is configurable from 1 to 7sec.
Machineman 0 Posted February 7, 2013 UPDATE: A few emails to Q-See support were useless. Its obvious they don't know much about theses cameras. They could not answer my questions and said they would forward it to engineering and told me I could try Costco support since Im a member there and got the cameras there. That was a couple weeks ago. Called costco and the guy I talked to was super nice and understood everthing I said. He couldn't find the answers either but noted everything on a report about the product. He said the report goes to the Costco buyers and Q-See about any issues. So in conclusion, these poorly described settings that seem to do nothing, will probbaly remain that way.
