Kawboy12R 0 Posted February 3, 2013 Anybody have any speed-related issues with ACC when watching sped-up video? When watching at 2x normal, it takes 30 seconds to review a minute of footage. The slowdown hits at 4x and above. It takes 20 seconds to review a minute at 4x with obviously some pauses in the footage with the busy wheel spinning on the screen occasionally. The big performance hit comes at 8x. For some reason, it takes 30 seconds to review a minute of footage at 8x. There are big pauses between the short sequences of sped-up video. This happens when reviewing footage from both the onboard SD card and from footage that is stored on a network share. It also happens when reviewing from my laptop on wireless or when wired to the router which has the camera's switch plugged into it. Just wondering if this is a network issue on my end or something that is a "feature" of ACC. The laptop has an i7 CPU and jumps from 5-20ish % utilization while reviewing a camera. Network bandwidth also jumps up and down a lot while reviewing.
StanLee2066 0 Posted February 4, 2013 I've never liked viewing video with ACC. It always seems jittery and laggy compared to watching it with AMC or viewing the files with any other media players. As far as I'm concerned it's a very unpolished product that needs lot's of work....but it's free I suppose.
buellwinkle 0 Posted February 4, 2013 I think it's a good product for what it is. Speed is an issue retreiving video, even from an FTP server, but I think it's targeted at very small systems for personal home use or very small businesses for security and if it takes a little longer to view the video, it's not something this class of users would do every day and can live with it, heck, some not for months until something happens.
