teltras 0 Posted February 10, 2013 Hi there, I need to get new firmware to my dvr, but i´m not able to find it. The model is Netfocus NS-5016 16CH with 2 HDD Pal system. It can be seen here: http://camera.aditec.ru/b/PRO-DVR-16CH-500GB-HDD-Netfocus-NS-5016-B005D1X008.html The back of the Netfocus is exactly the same as Capture pro CP-5016 (16ch) but the front is not the same, the menus are identical...But I thinks Capture Pro is Sata hdd. Here: http://www.eti.ie/fileshare/Product%20Manuals/Capture/Capture_Pro_user_manual.pdf IDVIEW IV-STA-5016 (16ch) at www.idview.com is the same as mine at the back, but it as changes at the front panel also, the menus are the same but a little more complete than mine. NW-STA-5016 is SATA HDD and mine is IDE, but it looks identical to mine. http://www.idview.com/IDVIEW/Products/DVR/assets/16CH/NW-STA-5016.pdf I´m tempted to flash mine but i do not find any firmware for flash, and the problem is mine is IDE and all the others are Sata, maybe its not compatible to flash. teltras 0 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Yes, the actual firmware i have is not fine tuneable. Later firmware is more refined and accurate. I cannot set event and time lapse at same time, and its impossible to set event at 6 or 3 fps and time lapse at 1 fps. To do that you have to set continous recording + event, (but continous recording assumes the max fps for Event it´s not separate) and if you do that 500gb 10 days only because you cannot set the time lapse frames. And there are many other things for example start record before event, Min is 2 sec, a nf after minimum is 10 seconds, not 1 or 2 sec. Old firmware.... If you check idview and Capturepro they have that and you can do fine tune on many things. I thing i know inside my board is a PPC the others i dont find any info... On the menu update firmware I have dvr-update.com but is not working. From usb I don´t have the file to flash it. With CMS software I cannot extract my firmware to a get a copy of the actual (old) but functional...If I have that option to extract it, I would take risks to update my dvr. Later firmware is more refined and accurate. or another way -- the 5 year old unit is not as good as there newer unit ??? firmware will not do what you want. you cant make a unit newer with firmware. teltras 0 Posted February 10, 2013 my question is if I can get a flash file from cpro or idview i can get all the things they have, the rear of the box is the same all the connectors perfectly allined. I have a GE Storesafe Pro II and its old, but i can do all that things I want. Can you help me to extract my firmware from the flash? My firmware is from 2006 and I want to put the 2007 or 2008 in it. But the website to update it is offline www.dvr-update.com The menus are almost the same and the dvr from cpro, foretech and idview, only have some restyling at the front panel only.
