Sp00ky 0 Posted February 17, 2013 Hi All, does anyone know if the process as shown in this thread http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7369 would also work for the next model up? I have a hard drive that i know works in a DVTU model and a SATA convertor... but i want to change the cruddy 160Gb hd for a 1Tb one... any advice would be appreciated Cheers Sp00ks
treborsz 0 Posted February 18, 2013 For DM DS2 M2IP HDD change you can use this procedure http://www.dedicatedmicros.com/software_release/download.php?file=1579.
Sp00ky 0 Posted February 18, 2013 Hey treborsz.... you are coming to my rescue again LOL!! So are you saying i just need to put the new hard drive in DVR and then follow the procedure shown on the document? I dont need to do anything with the drive first like previous DVR's? treborsz 0 Posted February 20, 2013 The HDD change procedure in the M2IP platform is easier then in the previous Legacy platform (DVTR, DVTU, DVTX).
Sp00ky 0 Posted February 20, 2013 Excellent. So just install the new drive and put the upgrade CD, format all drives and that should be ok yeah?
treborsz 0 Posted February 21, 2013 Not necessarily - rather than replace the existing drive, you can add another one (there is a place on the DVR to mount two drives) and format only the new disk. And then you say a prayer, and then turn around three times, stand on your head and clap your hands
